Partner town of Serock
Formally, the partnership cooperation between the town of Dzierżoniów and Serock District was declared by the Resolution no. XXXI/207/04 of Dzierzoniów Town Council on 11th October 2004. Earlier on 26th July 2004 the agreement had been signed under the headline “The agreement with the intention to develop friendly relations between the town of Dzierzoniów and Serock District “. The town of Dzierzoniów was represented by Mr. Marek Piorun, the Mayor of Dzierżoniów whereas Serock District and the town of Serock was represented Mr. Sylwester Sokolnicki, the Mayor of Serock.
Also, a trilateral agreement between Lanskroun, Dzierżoniów and Serock was signed on 27th October 2004 .
The main aim of this partnership of the districts is to create proper conditions for development of citizens’ relations and the contacts between the districts. The districts support each other and develop cooperation in every field of social lives, particularly in:
- culture,
- sport and recreation, tourism,
- school exchanges,
- cooperation between some associations and other non government organizations,
- exchanging experience in education and public utility fields,
- giving some information to the citizens on the cooperation of the districts.
School exchanges in winter and in summer are organized as a part of the partnership. Students from primary schools as well as middle schools from Serock pay visits to Dzierzoniów in winter breaks and students from Dzierzoniów usually spend their summer time at picturesque Zegrzynski Resevoir.
There are also sports camps being organized for young sportsmen as a part of the exchange.
Some representatives from Serock willingly take part in sports and cultural events in Dzierżoniów and Lanskroun.
